Medium-deep crimson to brick red. Barnyard, leather, amontillado aromas. Supple, smooth, leather, amontillado, nutty flavours and fine loose-knit, chalky tannins. Finishes flavourful and long with some mineral notes. Surprisingly fresh and concentrated. Most bottles are not as good as this. Generally past. Bottle volume: 750ml

Brick red. Very evolved wine which fades quickly in the glass. It first showed delicate plum, tangerine, mocha, mint aromas and flavours and lacy fine tannins but amontillado characters developed in the glass. Thinning and tired but interesting curio all the same. Bottle volume: 750ml

Medium-bodied. Succulent, juicy, fresh. Oak in hiding? Above an alluring savoury base are disparate flavours of quince tart and sticky date pudding. Very drinkable. An almost European disposition – relaxed, inviting. Beckons food. Bottle volume: 750ml

An immediate ascent of scent – no need to wait or to vigorously swirl this wine to tease out ‘what lies beneath’! Dark berry fruits consistent to both varietal persuasions, (cabernet and shiraz), overtly courted by elements of ponzu, soy, sesame and dried shiitake mushroom. Senses are easily conveyed to a forest after rain – wet bracken, liberated mulch, damp soils. Naturally (new and used) oak plays a (minor) role in this fanciful aromatic romp. Bottle volume: 750ml

So immediately true to variety. Punchy, not shy. Subtle forest floor earthiness, laced with liquorice, fennel and anise with a sceric of non-aggressive fresh spearmint. Sugar pastille wafts – somewhat reminiscent of the fruit bon bons of youth … more prescriptively/realistically – blackcurrant jelly bean. Summer pudding fruit generosity – suggestive of a cherry clafoutis. Or maybe a fleshy red cherry trifle, Stylish/coiffured oak. Bottle volume: 750ml

Light-medium brick red. Intense panforte, dark chocolate, molasses aromas with touches of rose petal, orange peel, cloves and spices. Well-concentrated panforte, spicy flavours, satintextured tannins and underlying savoury notes. Finishes chalky firm but fruit richness persists. Becoming quite fragile. Bottle volume: 750ml
-
An immediate aromatic lift of equal parts fruit and spice. Sumac, blackberry, blackbean sauce and plum. Blue fruited generosity and a violet allure which is only just detectable. Bottle volume: 750ml
-
Stone fruits persist alongside fresh citrus and green apple and just a splashing of honey suckle. Fine and pure with a subtle and soft oak influence finishing with a long, mineral acid structure that gives great length of flavour. Bottle volume: 750ml
-
Taut in texture, fine tannin with a savoury profile. Cranberry represents the red fruit spectrum, with lingering flavours of yellow plum, bay leaf and sage. Root vegetable earthiness is evident on the finish. Structurally framed by beautifully integrated French and American oak, present but rarely mentioned. Bottle volume: 750ml
-
Black cherry and blood plum create luscious texture and vibrant energy. Tiramisu creaminess……the coffee, dark and milk chocolate and Italian sweet spice. Tannins appear to assist a silky call-out and provide mid-palate expansion. Gloss and sheen ensure approachability. Bottle volume: 750ml
-
In a word, complex. Unravels with air and time. Red fruits arise from a mix of dark chocolate/ mocha dust (cappuccino) and chocolate-coated liquorice. Succulent, savoury, chewy – propelled by formidable tannins and well-hidden new oak. Bottle volume: 750ml
-
A soft and delicate mouth coating/laminated acidity fills out the palate and gently conveys the fermented spoils of Adelaide Hills Chardonnay. Showing more of a citrus edge, with lime splice and finger lime sweetness. Enticing teacake sponge flavoursvarietally laced with finely grated lemon zest. Already ready, yet no need to hurry – balanced and complete. Bottle volume: 750ml
-
More than just its fruity initial aromatic demeanour of boysenberry and mulberry arising peat and Middle Eastern (Moroccan) spices laced with malt, mustard seed. Nutty, cedary oak coalesces with a splash of freshly glazed fig and just-baked brandy snap. Bottle volume: 750ml
